VCI's Frozen Junior to play the Aud

Theatre returns to the Aud stage this March.

We all know the challenges faced by teenagers during the pandemic were immense. So many of the things they loved to do were put on hold and anxiety and depression were widespread.

Well, we are elated to say that the talented performing arts students of Virden Collegiate will finally return to the Aud Theatre stage at the beginning of March to present Disney’s magical Frozen Junior. VCI’s last musical was Beauty and the Beast back in May 2019. It has been much too long.

So, we are hoping that our community will buy many tickets to support this venture and to show our teens how very proud we are of them and to encourage them. There is nothing like the applause of an audience in boosting self-confidence and enabling our young people to shed a few layers and celebrate who they truly are. Time to have some fun!

There will be four performances - Wednesday, March 2nd at 4:00 pm and at 7:30 pm. Then on Friday, March 4th, there will be two more shows, also at 4:00 pm and 7:30. We would also like to encourage community members who are unable to attend to consider buying a ticket or two simply to support the efforts of these young performers……or better yet, drop off two tickets to give away at one of our elementary schools.

Audiences will be delighted by ultra-clever and talented Grade 11 students Daelyn Fefchak as Anna and Keira Peters as Elsa. Playing opposite these young stars are 3 fine young men - Dylan Southam as Hans, Evan Terin as Kristoff and Kyle Krieser as Sven the Reindeer. Audience will certainly enjoy Bryn McGrath as Olaf the Snowmen and 2 charismatic Grade 9 students, Kendall Charles and Quincy Smith will play the younger versions of Anna and Elsa. Filling out the cast will be Nathan Archambault as the King, Felicia Pringle as the Queen, Jamie Thiessen as the Duke of Weselton, Cody Thiessen as Oakden, and Natalie Draper and Hannah Tinnant will play the Hidden Folk, Pabbie and Bulda. The show also features a talented chorus of students grades 9 through 12 in various roles.

Frozen Junior’s runtime is approximately 70 - 80 minutes and is of course appropriate for all ages.

So mark your calendars now and order your tickets right away through Eventbrite. https://virdencollegiateperformingarts.eventbrite.ca/

Let’s band together and show our teenagers we care.
