During the week of Aug. 30th to Sept. 5th, the Westman RCMP dealt with 67 police activities. RCMP members were dispatched to:

 

Aug. 30 – Virden for a report that the caller’s ex would not give him his television, PlayStation 3 and his DVD player back. Police contacted the caller’s ex and helped facilitate the return of property.

 

Aug. 30 – Sioux Valley for a report of an assault and threats. The victim indicated that she was punched in the face. The investigation is ongoing, a warrant of arrest for the accused is being sought.

 

Aug. 30 – Sioux Valley for a report that a 10-year-old boy was being assaulted by several teenaged girls. The investigation is ongoing.

 

Aug. 30 – Sioux Valley for a report that a highly intoxicated 25-year-old male swung a machete at his brother. A warrant of arrest for the accused is being sought.

 

Aug. 31 – Virden for a report that a grey 2018 Ford F150, Manitoba licence plate CJH 841 was stolen overnight from the victim’s driveway. The doors were not locked and the keys were in the vehicle. The truck is currently outstanding.

 

Aug. 31 – Sioux Valley for a report of a possible stabbing. It was reported that the victim appeared to have a puncture on his face. When the victim was located by police, he said he was too intoxicated to remember what happened.

 

Aug. 31 – received a report of child abuse allegations that occurred at a residence in the RM of Sifton. The investigation is ongoing.

 

Aug. 31 – Hwy 256 in the RM of Ellice-Archie for a report of a collision. The driver was located at the scene laying in the ditch. Subsequent to investigation, it was believed that the driver was impaired by alcohol. The vehicle was arrested for impaired operation of a conveyance. Due to the vehicle driver’s injuries, she was unable to provide breath samples so blood samples were obtained. The investigation is ongoing.

 

 Sept. 1 – Sioux Valley for a report of two intoxicated males with a machete banging on the door accusing the homeowner of stealing cigarettes. Both males were located and arrested for weapons related offences. They were released the following morning with a future Court Date on the condition they have no contact with the victim and are not to attend the victim’s residence.

 

 Sept. 2 – a residence in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth for a report of a stolen golf cart. The golf cart was described to be an older white Harley.

 

 Sept. 2 – a property in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth for a report of a stolen 1976 Plymouth. The vehicle was located/recovered by the Neepawa RCMP. Investigation is ongoing.

 

 Sept. 4 – Sioux Valley for a report of a domestic assault. The accused was located walking on Hwy 21, and was arrested for assault. The accused was carrying a machete in his holster, and a black canister that appeared to be bear spray, and a knife, and was subsequently arrested for several weapons offences. The accused was remanded into custody.

 

Sept. 4 – RCMP to Melita for a report that two youth were damaging a bridge at the Melita golf course. The youth admitted to the incident. 

 

 Sept. 5 – RCMP to Sioux Valley for a report of a house fire at an abandoned residence. Subsequent to investigation, a 25-year-old female and a 21-year-old male were both charged with Arson and Break and Enter.

 

 Four covid compliance checks, and nine traffic enforcement actions were undertaken during this reporting period.
