Dear Editor:

There are people who might wonder what’s the problem! The problem is that the current crew have been doing it for a long time and want to press onward to other things and help family. They will help this Canada Day; but in the background as shadow supervisors and guide the new committee heads and volunteers.

Meeting on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:00 p.m. Council Chambers!

Prior to COVID-19, Virden has always put on a good Canada Day presentation for Virdenites and surrounding residents on farms and ranches. We have also been blessed on the most part with great weather.

We need new committee heads and volunteers. The old team will provide guidance and their notes for new team members. We won’t leave you on your own devices for this coming Canada Day.

Meeting on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:00 p.m. Council Chambers!

At the first Canada Day Meeting on Wednesday, March 23 some decisions that needed to be made were made due to the time factor. See! We are assisting you already to make Canada Day 2022 a success.

We are not leaving you with an empty bank account either. During our term funds donated or earned by us have been spent prudently while still providing outstanding entertainment and activities.

Meeting on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:00 p.m. Council Chambers!

It would be totally wrong to stop Canada Day due to a lack of willing volunteers. It’s been a great celebration on July 1, and we would like to see it continue for the families, elders, teens, and young adults. So, step forward and volunteer and you will have a helping hand for this summer from the old team who will be in the background. Keep this event for the community!

The next meeting for Canada Day is on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at seven o’clock in the Council Chambers for the Town of Virden. You’re needed to take over.

Volunteers who take over will be in the shallow water and not in the deep end. We, the old team, will be there to offer advice and a hand for this year.

Meeting on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:00 p.m. Council Chambers!
