On Thursday, June 23 Virden Collegiate Institute Graduates will be honoured. Family will be thrilled to see their Grade 12 graduates dressed up and on tour throughout the streets. Grad Class 2022 will cruise through the streets of Virden starting at 5 p.m. on flatdeck trailers so friends, family and the community gathered along the parade route can cheer on the students. They’re leaving behind their Virden school community; many will be moving from home to embark on a new journey.
It’s an all-day event and if the weather is favourable, in an outdoor presentation individual student in cap and gown will receive their diplomas at the main entrance to Virden Collegiate Institute beginning at 10 a.m. This will finish about 4:00 p.m. Students can invite as many guests as they want to witness their walk to receive the Grade 12 diploma.
(If the weather doesn’t cooperate, these presentations will take place in the VCI gymnasium.)
The Grand March within Tundra Oil & Gas Place begins after the street cruise at 6:30 p.m. Each Grad will have six tickets for family and friends to sit on the arena floor, and everyone else is welcome to take a seat in the bleachers.
Safe Grad takes place in the Curling Club next door.
