The entry deadline of Jan. 31, for Virden Music & Arts Festival is just a couple of days away, but with a digital entry form now available, the process is on a fast track for both the festival volunteers and for the entrants.

An audience is always welcome at the festival events where family and friends come to encourage performers and hear expert adjudications.

“We have returned to a year of offering sessions in all six disciplines,” says Co-Chair of the VAMF Judy Poole. “The link to our new digital entry form can be accessed on the Virden Music and Arts Facebook page and on the Fort La Bosse website under Parent Resources.” The same entry form is for all disciplines, but each entry should be submitted separately.

Instrumental and band competition is the first up on March 13 and 14. This year, after having been temporarily included in the piano sessions for the past two years, violin is back with the instrumental and band competition.

The Instrumental adjudicator will be Anna Penno from Brandon.

The ever-popular dance competition will again be held on the Aud Theatre stage where soloists and dance groups will perform on March 15 and 16. Dancers from Reston and Virden area often have competition from as far away as Dauphin.

Dance will be adjudicated by Danielle Auld from Niverville.

Visual Art entries will be on display at the Arts Mosaic Gallery in April. Artwork needs to be delivered by or before March 16 to Arts Mosaic (Historic CP Station) or can be dropped off at the Virden library.

Vocal/choral, piano and the speech arts festival sessions take place in April.

The addendum and the digital entry form can be found on the Fort La Bosse School Division page: www.flbsd.mb.ca/parent-resources. (forms).

In the coming weeks watch for Empire-Advance coverage of the sessions and details about the adjudicators who will inspire students in their disciplines.
