A bird overhead sang "Follow"

And a bird to the right sang "Here"

And the arch of the leaves was hollow

And the meaning of MAY was clear. - Algernon Charles Swinburn

This is the merry month of May. I love it as it is my birthday month. I also love it because it is getting warmer, but not too hot, and the days are getting longer. It is good to open my window and hear the birds chirping their Spring songs here in the tall Spruce trees around Evergreen.

The above quote is how it must have been one day last week, that they sang, "Follow me." I drove right to my favorite summer spot, the Lions Campground. Sure enough, the gates were open and I drove through the campground and saw how busy the Lions are preparing for summer campers. My Alberta children have booked their holiday here already.

I am glad to report some Mother's Day happenings here:

Irene Rowand, Chris and Donna went to Irene's daughter Faye's place for a special Mother's Day supper, on Sunday.

Harold and Lynda Spring went to Brandon on Saturday, the 7th, for a sister's 80th birthday dinner. On Mother's Day they went to their daughter Candace, and Ron's in Pipestone for lunch. Their son Steve and Tracy also joined them from Killarney.

Emmi Schneider's daughter, Suzie and Bruce Dunning, had her over for a special meal on Sunday, the 8th.

Vern and Margaret Rollo met with Margaret's sister and her brother Russell and Joan Sararas on Saturday, the 7th.

I enjoyed my Mother’s Day visit and meal at my son Peter and Cindy's place near Cromer.

We welcome Darlene Brochu and Jim Milne to the Evergreen family. They are busy moving in from Melita these days.

Dee's Electric Ltd. of Swan River is done renewing the fire alarm system here. On Friday, May 6, they tested the new alarm system. It was loud and clear. All seemed to be in order so they moved home. A job well done. Thank you!

Quote for today: "May... is full of all the things that make Spring and the brighter part of the year so special. Flowers bud, the sun shines, and new seeds are sown into the fabric of our lives. May is awesome." - Jenna Danchuk
