The work of Virden Art Club

A variety of beautiful works from the Virden Art Club are displayed in Arts Mosaic’s CPR Historic Centre Gallery, on Virden’s Sixth Avenue. There, you will see a variety of styles, including copies of works by Canada’s renowned Group of Seven artists’ as well as many unique pieces.

Mixed media is on display; some art is based on photo centres; large pastoral works can be seen, and numerous others - the gallery is well filled.

The art is not only on canvas, but certain other painted items adorn the display.

About a dozen people belong to Virden Art Club, meeting once per week to create together, sometimes receiving art instruction or inspiring each other. Many are seasoned artists themselves.

Myrna Gray’s pointillism piece, “My Grandfather” received an honorable mention at the Arts West Juried Show and is also part of the display.

Those with a hungry eye will find this display fascinating.

A few of the pieces are for sale with prices listed.

The Artist’s Reception is on Wednesday, May 23 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. offering an opportunity to meet the artists.

Arts Mosaic centre also includes a room dedicated to crafts which are all for sale and a visit is well worthwhile. The Mosaic Market regularly updates their wares – there’s everything from essential oil compounds to pottery, knitted/fabric crafts and much more.
