Zach Whitecloud’s Vegas Golden Knights dispatched the Dallas Stars, 4-2, in the National Hockey League’s Western Conference finals. The Vegas squad will battle the Florida Panthers for Lord Stanley’s prize. The series starts June 3 with the Golden Knights hosting.
The son of Tim Whitecloud and Donna Cullen has a goal and five points through 16 games this postseason. This is the third long playoff run the former Virden Oil Capitals defenceman has experienced in the NHL in his first five seasons. Back in 2020, Whitecloud helped the Golden Knights to the NHL Conference finals. The next season the squad made it to the Stanley Cup semifinals.
This time around, the Vegas crew beat Whitecloud’s home province Winnipeg Jets in the first round, 4-1. It dispatched the Edmonton Oilers, 4-2, in the second round.
