Writer says wonderful care at Westman

When you are saying goodbye, compassion helps you through.
Nurse

Dear Editor,

After spending almost 12 days there (Westman Nursing Home), off and on with a dying friend and her husband, I would like to express my opinion of the facility.

The entire staff are exceptional. They are all professional, compassionate, and caring. They showed my friend so much love and attention.

The morning of her birthday, two angels from the kitchen staff brought her a large Happy Birthday Balloon and a card. What a sweet gesture!

One thing I would say is that I might call Westman an Interprovincial care facility. I met staff there from Gladstone, Yorkton, Brandon and Pilot Mound as well as loyal members from Virden.

They do seem short of staff, but still try to give good care to all residents. This was an eye-opening situation for me.
