Man charged with aggravated assault in stabbing

On Feb. 27 at approximately 8:20 p.m., Manitoba First Nations Police Service Officers responded to a stabbing at a local residence on Roseau River First Nation.

On Feb. 27 at approximately 8:20 p.m., Manitoba First Nations Police Service Officers responded to a stabbing at a local residence on Roseau River First Nation.

 

Upon arrival at the residence, Police located a 32-year-old male laying on the ground in front of the residence with a knife lodged in his back.

EMS attended and transported the victim to Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg, where he underwent surgery and was later reported to be in stable condition.

Police located and arrested a male suspect without incident; 35-year-old Roy Seenie from the RM of Rhineland is facing charges of:

• Aggravated Assault

• Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

Seenie was held in custody for court at a later date.
