Update - escaped Lynn Lake prisoner peacefully arrested

On Saturday afternoon, Aug. 7, an arrested man escaped the custody of Lynn Lake RCMP. Before officers could secure the handcuffed Daryle Johnson in the police vehicle, he escaped into a wooded area and disappeared.

On Saturday afternoon, Aug. 7, an arrested man escaped the custody of Lynn Lake RCMP. Before officers could secure the handcuffed Daryle Johnson in the police vehicle, he escaped into a wooded area and disappeared.

The initial report said Johnson was considered dangerous and RCMP invited the public’s assistance.

Johnson is now back in custody. At 10 on Monday night, Aug. 9, Lynn Lake RCMP were contacted and advised that the 46-year-old wished to turn himself in to police.

Officers attended to the local church in the community. There he was arrested without incident. Johnson was still in handcuffs at the time.

He will be remanded into custody on an additional charge of Being Unlawfully at Large.
