As of January 3, 2019 Brian and Elisa Grenier are the proud new owners of Wiebe’s Corner Store in Sinclair.
Brian and Elisa moved to Sinclair and purchased a home in 2017. Brian has roots in Manitoba, growing up in Virden, MB, where he worked in a grocery store in his teenage years. Elisa was raised in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
They moved to Sinclair from Fort McMurray, where Brian worked as an oil/pipeline construction coordinator and Elisa worked as an accountant and at her family’s restaurant.
“Rita was wanting to retire and since we lived in the community, we thought we could offer to continue her family tradition business and keep it in the community,” explained Elisa. “The only change we see in the near future is an upgrade to the deli counter to a soup and sandwich counter and we have brought in two new produce displays, other than that, business will continue to stay the same as it has for the past 43 years.” “Even the name is going to remain the same,” stated Brian.
Hours for Wiebe’s Corner Store are Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with the possibility of being open on Saturday in the summer.
Wiebe’s Corner Store offers Bothwell Cheese, Grimm’s Meats, Harvest Meats, Melita Meats, Melita Bakery, Pioneer Meats, Saputo Dairy just to name a few and Brian and Elisa are looking into East 40 Meats. They have a gift shop with small appliances, electrical and hardware needs, a postal outlet plus a full grocery line. Wiebe’s Corner Store truly is a general store with one stop shopping. On January 4, 2019 Brian and Elisa served soup during the day as a way to meet and greet their customers.
Brian and Elisa have three children and two grandchildren that live in Alberta. They have two dogs. Brian loves to cook, enjoys the gun range and his pups. Elisa loves to interact with folks and has a keen affection for numbers, and gardening during the summer months.
We wish Brian and Elisa all the best and look forward to shopping at Wiebe’s Corner Store.
