The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held in the Division Board Room on Monday, Aug.28. Members present were: C. Russell, D. Campion, N. Chaske, B. Cochrane, L. Irwin, D. Jamieson, C. Lowes, R. Masson, M. Walker, B. Pitz, Superintendent of Schools, K. Reid, Secretary-Treasurer, and V. Wilson, Supervisor of Operations.
• Board approved a 1.0 FTE contract for Teresa Sanheim to become the division’s Administrator of Student Services & Strategic Initiatives commencing Aug. 1, 2017.
• Board approved a 1.0 FTE Limited Teacher General Agreement for Kristy Rasmuson commencing Sept. 5, 2017 and concluding April 30, 2018.
• Board approved a 0.4 FTE Leave of Absence for Ruth Fleury for the 2017-2018 school year.
• Board approved a 0.5 FTE Limited Teacher General Agreement for Courtney Osudar commencing Sept. 5, 2017 and concluding June 30, 2018.
• Board approved the off-school site and high-risk activity for 50 grade K-3 and K-8 OLCS students for swimming lessons in the months of Sept.-Dec., 2017 and April to June 2018 at the Brandon Sportsplex as part of their Phys. Ed. program.
• Board approved the 2017-2018 Manitoba School Boards Association membership fee in the amount of $30,819.75 plus applicable taxes.
• Board approved the use of school agreements as detailed in the Secretary-Treasurer report dated Aug.28, 2017.
• Board approved the clinical and transportation agreements with the Kola Community School Inc. for the 2017-2018 school year.
• By-Law No. 2/2017, providing for the borrowing of $64,900.00 by way of promissory note for the purposes of partial payment of the costs of various projects as listed on Schedule B to the said by-law, be given first reading and be referred to the Public Schools Finance Board.
• By-Law No. 3/2017 providing for the borrowing of moneys to a limit of five million dollars ($5,000,000.00), upon the credit of the Fort La Bosse School Division, for operating purposes for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018 be given first and second readings and be referred to the board.
• By-Law No. 3/2017 providing for the borrowing of moneys to a limit of five million dollars ($5,000,000.00), upon the credit of the Fort La Bosse School Division, for operating purposes for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018 be given third and final reading and become law; was carried.
