The annual draft horse show took place last weekend at the fairgrounds in Virden with two full days of events, including a special feature called the Charity Class.
This is a fun and colourful category where all classes of heavy horses are allowed to enter and compete. The exhibitors in this class raise money for a designated charity, this year STARS (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society) Air Ambulance.
Between the exhibitors and the audience, $2,500 was donated to STARS represented at the event by Mayor Jeff McConnell.
A winner was also chosen from the competing entries. And as you can see from these images, several of them took the STARS helicopter/paramedic theme and ran with it!
