Reston played host for the 2nd Annual Southwest Business and Entrepreneur Expo on Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the RES Centre.
This innovative business event featured speakers, a panel presentation, trade show, networking, and a business pitch event with an opportunity to win cash awards.

Southwest Safety Consulting of Virden, door prize winner of a $3,500 workshop at Lucky Break Ranch and Tack in Rivers.
Oak Lake Community Development Board $1,000 award to a business located in the RM of Sifton - Anchor Salon and Spa.
RM of Pipestone Community Development Corporation $500, Original or Unique Business Pitch – Come Back Café; $750 ability to succeed – Come Back Café.
Municipality of Souris–Glenwood $500 Young Entrepreneur Award – Mutty Paw Acres; $500 Original or Unique Business – Viva La Lemon.
Souris Glenwood Chamber of Commerce $250 to best overall pitch session from a Municipality of Souris-Glenwood entrant, one-year free membership – Viva La Lemon.
Town of Virden $1,000 to a business located in the Town of Virden – Southwest Safety Consulting.
Town of Melita $500 for a new business to be located in the Town of Melita – B. Style and Staging; Melita and Area Economic Development Corporation $500 for a business to be located in the Town of Melita and Area – Food Ethos Farm; Melita and Area District Chamber of Commerce $500, plus one-year free membership, for a business to be located in the Town of Melita and Municipality of Two Borders - The Den Authentic Barnwood.
