A fatal structure fire in Dauphin claimed a life

On February 12, at 10:55 p.m., Dauphin RCMP responded to a report of a structure fire at an address located on Second Avenue NE in Dauphin.

Officers arrived on scene to find the structure engulfed in flames and were advised that it was believed that someone was still inside.

Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters entered the structure and removed a 59-year-old male, who was pronounced deceased.

No other injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.

Dauphin RCMP along with the Office of the Fire Commissioner continue to investigate.
