Parents of students at Reston School have received a letter regarding two cases identified within the school:

Dear Parent/Guardian of Reston School student(s),

Manitoba public health officials advised Reston School on November 4, 2020 of two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the school.

Reston School is working closely with public health officials and following their recommendations.

Be assured that public health investigations to identify individuals who may have been exposed begin within 24 hours of a confirmed laboratory test. Anyone identified as a close contact will be contacted and provided instructions for self-isolation (quarantine). Testing may also be recommended.

Please note: Reston School is not permitted to release the name or any identifying information about the confirmed case of COVID-19 to any member of the school, community or media.

Public health has advised that Reston School be closed for 24 hours to allow for a more detailed investigation of the situation. Further communication will be provided tomorrow based on the results of the investigation. Anyone who is identified as a close contact to the case(s) will be contacted directly by public health. For now, students and staff must self-isolate (quarantine) while this investigation is completed.
