All-star cast to hit Aud stage this Sunday

Christmas concert to feature Prairie Joe, L-Tones, Cloggers and more
concert
Prairie Joe of Oak Lake, just one of the local acts slated to play the Aud this Sunday in a community Christmas concert.

Into a season full of parties, concerts and recitals comes the announcement of a show full of extraordinary regional talent.

This Sunday, Dec. 16, top performers will pool their talents for a fundraising Christmas concert at the Aud Theatre in Virden.

The impressive play bill includes Christian-country band Prairie Joe from Oak Lake, the L-Tones featuring vocalist Leona Joseph of Elkhorn, Sound Investment from Virden Collegiate, and the Virden and District Youth Choir.

Grades seven to nine from the choir will have a new Christmas dance number to perform thanks to choreographer Katey Rogowsky. Plus, the Virden Country Cloggers will contribute their age-positive talents, dancing to seasonal music.

Also included in this gala will be the Virden Dance Club, Oak Lake’s prized singer Tara (Abbott) Matthew, and raconteur Greg Tough of Hargrave.

With a program top heavy with quality local talent, organizers have dubbed the show an “old-fashioned community Christmas Concert”. It’s also a fundraiser for the Aud Theatre.

Board member Shauna Dunning said, “We are very excited for this concert and really, there is no better place to be during the Christmas season than the Aud!”

One show only will be held at the Aud Theatre at 3:00 p.m. Sunday Dec. 16. Suitable for all ages. Tickets at the door, rush seating.
