During the week of Jan. 20 - 27, the Westman RCMP dealt with 57 police activities.
Jan. 20 - RCMP responded to a disturbance complaint in Melita and arrested an intoxicated 30-year-old male. After taking the male into custody, he uttered threats to the officers and is now facing charges of uttering threats.
Jan. 22 - RCMP received a report of an assault in Sioux Valley. A 39-year-old male had assaulted a 31-year-old female. The man has been arrested and is now facing assault charges.
Jan. 23 - RCMP received a report of an assault in Sioux Valley. A 34-year-old male had assaulted a 30-year-old female. The 34-year-old has been arrested and is facing assault charges.
Jan. 23 - RCMP responded to a complaint of mischief to a vehicle in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth. A vehicle that had been left unattended was vandalized. The owner was contacted.
Jan. 25 - RCMP received a call in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth of suspicious activity in the rural area near Elkhorn. RCMP are requesting the public to report any suspicious people or vehicles and will be increasing patrols in the area.
Jan. 25 - RCMP conducted a vehicle stop in Sioux Valley and arrested a driver for driving impaired by a drug. This 32-year-old driver has been released for court at a later date.
Jan. 26 - RCMP conducted a vehicle stop on King Street in Virden and charged the driver for driving an unregistered vehicle.
Jan. 27 - RCMP received a call that a person in the RM of Two Borders was driving while disqualified. The matter is still under investigation.
Jan. 27 - RCMP conducted a vehicle stop in Virden and charged a driver with driving an unregistered vehicle.
Jan. 27 - RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway #1 and King Street in Virden. There were no serious injuries as a result of the collision.
