During the week of June 1st to June 8th, the Westman RCMP dealt with 84 police activities.

 

June 2 - RCMP responded to a disturbance in Sioux Valley. Investigation led to the arrest of a 29-year-old male from Sioux Valley for assault. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

 

June 2 - RCMP were dispatched to a report of a structure fire in the RM of Two Borders. Investigation revealed that a crop fire from the previous day had spread and burnt down the property owner’s Quonset. 

 

June 3 - RCMP were dispatched to a structure fire in Virden. The matter is still under investigation. No injuries were reported.

 

June 5 - RCMP were dispatched to a mischief at a downtown business in Virden. Suspects had caused minor damage to the building. The matter is still under investigation.

 

June 5 - RCMP were dispatched to a report of an assault in Sioux Valley. The female victim received minor injuries. A 28-year-old female was arrested and charged for assault.

 

June 6 - RCMP were lodging prisoners at the Virden RCMP Detachment, and two males that were familiar with each other started fighting in a cell. Police then re-arrested a 21-year-old male from Sioux Valley for assault and remanded him into custody.

 

There were 25 traffic enforcement actions during this reporting period. Police were also called upon by Public Health to conduct one COVID-19 Quarantine check.
