It’s inconceivable that anyone would take advantage of people in a time of distress. But that’s exactly what is happening with a scam related to COVID-19.
The Manitoba health organization that works on behalf of all the health authorities, Shared Health, advises that there’s been multiple reports over the weekend of phishing scams related to COVID-19.
In response, they have developed information to warn people and direct them to report the offense. It is more than just a nuisance. This is a reportable crime at a time when people are feeling vulnerable.
