BREAKING NEWS: New bridge on Virden’s PR 257 exciting news

The Provincial Road 257 on the northeast side of Virden is overgrown with weeds since the bridge was declared closed in June of 2104. Now, Sept. 29, on hand for the announcement of construction of a new bridge next summer: MP for Brandon Souris Larry Maguire, Virden Chamber President Carla McLean, MLA for Turtle Mountain Doyle Piwniuk, MLA for Riding Mountain Greg Nesbitt, WDFD Fire Chief Brad Yochim, Reeve of Wallace-Woodworth Clayton Canart, Mayor of Virden Murray Wright and MLA for Brandon East Len Iseleifson.

The rebuilding of the PR 257 Virden bridge over Gopher Creek has just been announced, Tuesday morning, Set. 29.

Local governments, businesses, citizen and even the Lions Club of Virden petitioned the Manitoba Government to get the bridge back into use.

Today’s announcement saw some 40 people, including politicians of three levels of government, on hand to receive this bright news for the community of Virden and surrounding areas.
