The initial round of immunization was to take place on Monday morning, Jan. 18. However, a nurse who was to be involved became unwell, and the clinic was rescheduled for later in the week.

A religious ceremony including prayers is planned in preparation for the vaccine clinic prior to the start of injections.

Since the first of December the Dakota community had signage up at their entrance on Hwy 83 that stated the reserve was closed to visitors due to COVID-19 health concerns. That is still the case, with exceptions for essential services.
