Classic cars cruise King St.

Pit stop for ice cream attracts looks

On Monday afternoon, July 29, about 35 classic restored vehicles cruised into Virden, right down King Street E. to Ice Cream Island. They came from a rally in Elkhorn earlier in the day and were heading to Oak Lake for another pit stop to show off their shiny toys and make another group of car lovers green with envy.

Kevin Williams and Murray Davies are organizers of the newly-formed Westman on Wheels car club based in Virden. The group has been around for a while says Williams, but they decided there was enough interest to formalize it with a name, a Facebook page and an executive to organize events.

Today's tour is part of the build up towards a major car event taking place in Brandon at the Keystone Centre next weekend. The 2019 Super Run happens every three years, attracting over 300 vehicles registered so far.
