Following a crash on Nelson St., the van's torn off bumper is placed in the cargo area.

A fender-bender disrupted the day for a couple of drivers. On the corner of Nelson St. and Eighth Ave. two vehicles collided on Friday afternoon, Jan. 17, about 2:00 p.m. It amounted to vehicle damage and left the intersection strewn with small bits of what vehicle exteriors are made of – hard plastic. No one seemed to be injured. The bumper of the van and the driver door of the truck were broken.

Nelson Street in downtown Virden is busy. The business street connects the downtown avenues and offers traffic a route southwest across the creek, all the way to the perimeter road of Thomas Drive. It’s a slippery corner this time of year. Visibility is also reduced when vehicles park too near the intersections of Nelson and Eighth.
