During the week of July 12 to July 18, RCMP were dispatched to:

 

July 12 – Reston for a report of a theft that occurred while the homeowner was away. A computer and Bluetooth speakers were among the items that were stolen. The homeowner had left the residence unlocked. The investigation is ongoing.

July 15 – Sioux Valley for a report of a house fire. There were no injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

July 15 – Reston for a report of a drowning. An adult male was found deceased after several hours of searching. The investigation is ongoing.

July 16 – RM of Pipestone for a report of a break and enter to a shop. Entry was gained through a side door with what is believed to be a sledgehammer. No items were reported to be missing.

July 17 – a residence in Virden for a report of a female outside causing a disturbance. An intoxicated 46-year-old female was arrested as she was too intoxicated to care for herself. She was released the following morning when sober.

July 18 – Melita for a report of an attempted sexual assault. The investigation is ongoing.

July 18 – a residence in Sioux Valley for a report of an intoxicated male smashing objects. Upon police attending, it was determined the intoxicated male had several warrants for his arrest. The warrants were executed.

July 18 – RCMP were dispatched to the RM of Pipestone for a report of a Break and Enter to a residence. It appeared as though entry was gained through a window. The investigation is ongoing.

July 18 – A caller from Melita reported that RCMP dispatchers were useless and rude. The male then called again to say he was suicidal. Upon police attending, he told police that he lied about being suicidal. He lied about being suicidal so that police would come to his house to speak with him.

Westman RCMP dealt with 73 police activities; among these 19 traffic enforcement actions, two Covid compliance checks and four wellbeing checks were undertaken during this reporting period.
