Holiday week - RCMP called to assaults and to a ruse

During the week of Dec. 21 – Dec. 27, Westman RCMP dealt with 35 police activities.

Dec. 21 – RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of intoxicated people fighting in a residence. Upon arrival, it was determined no fighting occurred, and that the complainant made up a lie to get the police to attend because she wanted a ride to Brandon. She was not provided one.

 

Dec. 22 – RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of a Break and Enter in progress. A 16-year-old male was located and arrested. He was released, and will be appearing on a future Court date. He is facing Break and Enter and mischief charges.

 

Dec. 22 – RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a weapons call. Subsequent to investigation it was determined a 33-year-old male threatened his father with a knife and brass knuckles. Upon police attendance, the suspect and his brother barricaded the residence and threatened police with baseball bats. One of the suspects ran and was caught, the other was safely taken into custody the following morning. A 33-year-old male, and a 30-year-old male are both facing threats and weapons charges.

 

Dec. 22 – RCMP were dispatched to Virden for a report of a domestic assault in Virden. Subsequent to investigation, a 53-year-old male was arrested and released on a future Court date.

 

Dec. 22 – RCMP were dispatched to the Virden hospital for a report of an individual who was distraught from using meth. He left the hospital in the cold without shoes. The male was safely located and brought back to the hospital. He was sedated and calm prior to police departing.

 

Dec. 23 – RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of a domestic assault. Subsequent to investigation, a 40-year-old male was arrested for assault and released on a future Court date.

 

Dec. 24 – RCMP were dispatched to Melita for a report that a male threatened to commit a robbery at Water Boyz. The male left without incident. Subsequent to his arrest, it was determined the suspect assaulted someone inside his residence. He was released on a future Court date.
