Virden Demolition Derby packed the stands on Sunday, Aug. 18. A dozen heats ran, plus an event for the kids. The car with the last unpopped balloon won the event.
In the derby car raffle, the winner decided he couldn’t take the car home and took the cash instead. The car was then auctioned off. It brought $650 which was donated back to the VCI shop/mechanics program.
