Miniota News by Bev Peel

Linda Clark traveled to Red Lake, Ont. last week to be with her sister-in-law, Kathy Morton, who is suffering from heart problems.

Linda also performed the funeral service for Kathy's step-daughter, Shelly Bisson, who was killed in a tragic plane crash. Other relatives that traveled to the funeral were: Barry and Dianne Clark, Miniota; Bryon Clark, Vancouver, B.C.; Katrina Clark, Brandon; Doreen Clark, Miniota; Kevin Clark, Dauphin; and Julie Halipchuck, Winnipeg.

Thinking of Clare Clark who is a patient in Hamiota Hospital and wasn't able to attend the funeral.

Recent visitors with the Brad and Del Cole families, and with Tricia and Jeff Lelond of Miniota were Gasper Kosec and Lara Zeleznik of London, Ont. Originally from Slovenia, they are currently experiencing life and work in Canada. They especially enjoyed hiking and quadding in the Assiniboine Valley.

The annual fundraiser for the Miniota Golf Club hosted an 18-hole golf tournament on Saturday, June 8. In spite of a cloudy, cool and windy day, 22 foursomes took part. One foursome's ages added up to over 300! The day ended with a supper of ribs and chicken cooked by Ross and Crystal Howard and an auction.

Sunday, June 9, the Miniota Minor Ball Tournament started at 10 a.m. with sun, clouds and of course, wind.
