Lenore bull hits heights

Local Lenore cattle producers raised a high demand bull

The Nykoliations of Lenore, Merv, Joanne and son Jesse, have had strong success with their Charolais cattle in recent years. In their 2020-21 sale they hit a new high with the top yearling bull going for $80,000. One of the highest selling Charolais bull in Canada, this year.

On March 22 Tri-N Charolais sold 52 lots with many sales at around $8,000.

Two bulls hit five figures. The white bull Tri-N Go North 2411H, sired by Nykoliation’s own bull SCX Jehu 233E sold for $80,000 to two buyers: Palmer Charolais, Bladworth, Sask. and BOB Charolais, of Stettler, Alta.

The cattle sold throughout seven States and in Canada, from BC to PEI, with this high seller staying on the Canadian side. “It’s nice to see the genetics stay in Canada,” said Merv.

A red Charolais bull also sold very well. Tri-N Brooks 34H, also sired by SCX Jehu 233E sold for $24,000 to Zehnder Waage Partnership, Greenbush, Minnesota.

Nykoliation says these Tri-N bulls represent a diversity of genetics that people apparently are looking for.
