Lieutenant Governor’s Conversation - A Life of Service

An inside look at military life – one in the series of free public events

Lt.-Gov. Filmon is hosting a series of monthly free public events throughout 2018 to honour the 135th birthday of Government House. In recognition of Remembrance Week, the theme of the November event will be ‘A Life of Service – An Inside Look at Military Life, an informative and interactive evening with Colonel (Retired) Andy Cook’. Cook will engage the audience in presenting similarities and differences between military and civilian life, sharing stories of experiences unique to military life and touching on how the role of the military has evolved throughout the years. Entertainment by Royal Canadian Air Force quartet MACH 4 will round out the evening.

In her role as lieutenant-governor, as well as in her private life, Lt.-Gov. Filmon embraces the role of community connector. Her vision for Conversations and Celebrations is to continue to find meaningful ways to bring Manitobans together to learn, and celebrate unique talents, abilities and perspectives by embracing the rich diversity of this province and its people.
