Three local boys have been selected to the 2018, 13U AAA Oildome team to play in the Provincial qualifier. In season play, the Oildome League is made up of teams from Virden, Killarney, Boissevain, Deloraine, Reston, Melita, Souris, Hartney, Oak Lake, Elkhorn, Pierson, and Wawanesa.
Virden’s Ryan Lewis, Elkhorn’s Foxx McColl and Kurt Rookes will be playing for the Oildome, representing the league at Provincials.
“The boys are multi-position players,” says assistant coach Travis McColl from Elkhorn.
He wishes them luck at the Provincial qualifiers, adding, “they have a strong group this year and have high hopes for a successful AAA season.”
The team consists of 13 players including boys from Boissevain, Deloraine, Killarney, Wawanesa, Souris, Virden and Elkhorn.
The Oildomes had a successful start to the AAA season with 4 wins and 1 loss at the Triple Crown showdown tournament in Portage La Prairie on the July long weekend.
