A man from southwestern Manitoba has been taken into custody, charged with weapons offenses, trafficking and breaking conditions.
On Oct. 14, as a result of an ongoing investigation, Melita RCMP, along with assistance from the Manitoba West District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST), the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST), the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Police Dog Services (PDS), executed a search warrant at a residence located in the RM of Brenda-Waskada.
The search of the residence resulted in the seizure of a sawed-off shotgun, several prohibited weapons, methamphetamine, ecstasy and drug related paraphernalia.
RCMP have arrested and charged 27-year-old Regan Breemersch, from the RM of Brenda-Waskada, with five counts of weapons related offences, Trafficking of a Controlled Substance and Failing to Comply with a Release Order.
Breemersch is currently on conditions for numerous firearm offences as a result of a previous search warrant executed at his residence on April 18, 2020 https://www.empireadvance.ca/news/local-news/over-30-firearms-seized-near-melita-1.24126213.
He was taken into custody and Melita RCMP continue to investigate.
