Regarding last week’s correction by John Fefchak, I am a much older citizen.
In, first of all the 30s and early 40s, the Virden Band played Saturday nights behind the United Church where we all gathered. No dancers of Virden Legion were in streets dancing. No.
But I remember, we danced in the street on Seventh Ave. in the War years, before the Legion had the open-air dance floor on cement, which I attended.
