Officers diffuse family issue

RCMP REPORT

During the week of Sept. 7 – Sept. 13 the Westman RCMP dealt with 47 police activities.

Sept. 8 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of a male being choked by his son. Police attended and assisted in defusing the conflict. The victim was not injured and declined to proceed with charges.

Sept. 9 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of an attempted stabbing. Subsequent to investigation, a 45-year-old male was charged. Police have made several attempts to locate the accused, a warrant for arrest has been issued. 

Sept. 10 - RCMP were dispatched to the RM of Two Borders for a report of a stolen fuel pump. The matter is still under investigation. 

Sept. 11 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of an intoxicated person refusing to leave a residence. The person was taken into custody, as he was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was released when sober. 

Sept. 11 - RCMP were dispatched to Virden for a report of a theft from a vehicle. Keys, sunglasses and a fuel card were stolen. The matter is still under investigation. 

Sept. 12 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of an assault. Police attended and learned the accused had left the residence. The matter is still under investigation. 

Sept. 12 - RCMP were dispatched to the RM of Wallace Woodworth for a report of a break and enter to a vacant house. A record player and a mirror were among the stolen items. The matter is still under investigation.

 16 traffic enforcement actions were undertaken during this reporting period.
