During the week of May 11 to May 19, the Westman RCMP dealt with 59 police activities.
May 13 - Police were advised that a person had the tires of their vehicle slashed in the RM of Two Borders. No suspects or witnesses were identified.
May 14 - RCMP were dispatched to a business in the RM of Sifton for a report of a theft under $5000. The matter is still under investigation.
May 15 - Police were called to an address in Virden for a report of a disturbance. After investigating, police seized an amount of methamphetamine and stolen property. A 33-year-old male from Alberta is scheduled to appear in court for charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of property obtained by crime.
May 17 - RCMP were dispatched to a traffic collision in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth.
May 17 - RCMP were dispatched to a residence in Sioux Valley for a report of an unwanted person, who had gained entry into a residence that was not his. Police attended and arrested a 57-year-old male from Sioux Valley for being unlawfully in a dwelling house. He will appear in court at a later date.
May 18 - RCMP were dispatched to Elkhorn for a report of an assault with a weapon where minor injuries were sustained. After investigating, police charged a 38-year-old male from Ontario with assault with a weapon. He will appear in court later.
May 18 - RCMP were called for a report of a stolen ATV. A black 2008 Polaris Sportsman 500 was stolen from a rural location in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth. If you have any information regarding this theft, please contact the Virden RCMP Detachment at 204-748-2046.
