When a building has to be torn down, it isn’t always a happy occasion… but this one was because it means a new home for a deserving family can be constructed.
Yesterday, Wednesday July 18, saw the demolition of a small well-used house on Lyons St. West in Virden. The lot will be home to a new Habitat for Humanity house, their fourth in Virden.
They plan to begin construction this month on a single family home for a low-income working family who qualified under Habitat's program guidelines.
