At the Pembina Pipelines station near Kola, Pembina served a barbecue meal to community members on June 28.
Area manager Trent Forsyth announced donations to groups that serve Virden and area, including a new partnership with Wallace District Fire Department. Pembina has pledged $6,000 to be used by the fire department as needed over the next three years
Forsyth said, "Pembina has committed $2,000 per year for three years to both the food bank (Virden Food Cupboard) and the fire department. Pembina gave the Handi-Van a three-year commitment last year plus we raised $510.70 at this year’s barbecue.”
Virden Area Handi-Van provides transportation for seniors and mobility-disadvantaged citizens within Virden and the rural area.
