Police respond to violent situations, and missing man now located

During the week of Sept. 14 - 20, the Westman RCMP dealt with 50 police activities. 

Sept. 14 - RCMP were dispatched to Elkhorn for a report of a vehicle that purposely backed up into a semi and left the scene. The matter is still under investigation. 

Sept. 14 - RCMP were dispatched to Reston for a report of cattle on the highway. Patrols were made however no cattle were located. It was assumed the cows went home. 

 

Sept. 14 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of a missing person. The matter is still under investigation. If anyone has any information regarding the location of Isaiah Blacksmith of Sioux Valley, please contact the Virden RCMP.  *

*Update: Isaiah Blacksmith has been safely located

 

Sept. 15 - RCMP were dispatched to Reston for a report of a stolen welder. The matter is still under investigation. 

Sept. 15 - RCMP were dispatched to Virden for a report of a distraught female. The individual was arrested under the Mental Heath ACT. Subsequent to arrest, the female spat on, and assaulted the responding officers. She was transported to the hospital to receive assistance, and released on a future Court date. 

Sept. 16 - RCMP were dispatched to McAuley for a report of a domestic assault. A 53-year-old male was arrested and remanded into custody. 

Sept. 16 - RCMP were dispatched to Melita for a report of an intoxicated male with a firearm who had committed an assault. A 31-year-old male was safely taken into custody. He was released on a future Court date with several imposed conditions. 

Sept. 18 - RCMP were dispatched to Virden for a report of a person who tried to overdose. The individual was arrested under the Mental Health ACT and transported to the hospital to receive assistance. 

Sept. 19 - RCMP were dispatched to Reston for a report of a domestic assault. A 48-year-old male was arrested and released on a future Court date. 

Sept. 20 - RCMP were dispatched to Melita for a report of a break and enter. Subsequent to investigation, RCMP obtained search warrants and recovered several stolen items. The matter is still under investigation.
