Puppy purchase over internet was a rip-off

People purchasing a puppy over the internet were scammed.

During the week of August 17 to 23 the Westman RCMP dealt with 70 police activities.

 Aug. 19 - RCMP were called regarding a fraud. An individual had sent money through a financial institution to pay for a puppy, however the dog never arrived and the web page was deleted. The investigation is continuing.

Aug. 19 - RCMP were called for a report of a domestic assault in Sioux Valley. The assailant allegedly threatened the victim with a weapon. The investigation is continuing.

Aug. 20 - RCMP were called to Sioux Valley for a report of a single vehicle collision. The driver was learned to be impaired and provided breath samples above the legal limit. He will appear in court at a later date.

Aug. 22 - RCMP conducted a curfew check for an offender on a court-imposed curfew. The individual was found to be in breach of this condition and was later arrested and remanded into custody for breaching the order.

Aug. 22 - RCMP responded to a report of break and enter in Sioux Valley. The investigation is continuing.

22 traffic enforcement actions were undertaken during this reporting period by police.

Police also responded to 5 motor vehicle collisions during the week.
