Good Morning! It is 5:15 a.m. on May 25.

Forecast - 100% chance for rain, at 5 a.m. I look out the window and see clear sky! I'll wait a minute and look out again. After all it's May - it "may" rain!

By the time you read this week's paper it will be May 28. But today as I write it is May 25. Today is a fun holiday called "Sing Out Day." I like that because I love to sing, and hear others sing. So, whether it's the 25, or 28 or 30, open up your vocal chords and sing out loud from the heart (even if it’s behind closed doors).

Carol Gabrielle was happy to have her daughter Michelle, of Winnipeg, visit her this long weekend. So few of us can get together with family members.

Joyce Braybrook (nee Bailey), a resident at Evergreen, lives “behind doors" as most of us do. When Joyce was seven, her grandma started her with embroidery. Now she does most any kind of handwork. She makes beautiful, fancy dolls. She crochets with her left hand and knits with her right hand. On the picture you see a few of her pandemic creations - a crocheted tablecloth, a knit brown afghan and she is working left-handed on her real specialty, hardhanger. (Joyce says she eats with both hands.) This is her enjoyment, and there were times when she begrudged having to go for coffee. Now during this extreme lockdown that is no problem. Joyce is thankful to be able to do what she loves doing after having had double cataract surgery earlier during this pandemic.

Sheila Jebb is a caregiver for a few residents. It is a pleasure when she comes, not only because she leaves a spic n' span suite, but she is a very pleasant friend to have around for a few hours. Needless to say, she is a hard worker.

O yes, this morning (later) I did look out the window again and it was raining. We are grateful for every drop!

Quote for the Day: "It is good to remember that the tea kettle, although up to its neck in hot water, continues to sing." – Author unknown
