RCMP asks public for tips regarding Elkhorn theft

During the week of Jan. 4 to Jan. 10 the Westman RCMP dealt with 47 police activities.

Jan. 5 - Westman RCMP were dispatched to a property in Virden for a report of an individual failing to comply with conditions of a court order. The individual was located and charged for failing to comply and released for a future court date.

Jan. 7 – Westman RCMP were dispatched to Elkhorn for a report of a theft of vehicle and for a report of break and enter in Elkhorn. A garage of a residence was broken into overnight. The matter is still under investigation.

On that date, a white 2017 Chevrolet Equinox with Manitoba licence BLW 203 was stolen from its owner’s driveway in Elkhorn. The vehicle has yet to be located. If you have any information regarding this theft, please phone the Virden RCMP Detachment at 204-748-2046.


Jan. 9 – Westman RCMP were called for a report of extortion in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth. The matter is still under investigation.


Jan. 9 – Westman RCMP conducted a curfew check on an offender in Sioux Valley. The individual was breaching conditions of his release order by not being home.  The matter is still under investigation to locate the accused.


Jan. 10 – Westman RCMP were dispatched to a report of a structure fire in the RM of Sifton. Upon attending with Oak Lake Fire Department, it was learned that an outbuilding had caught fire, likely due to an electrical issue. The matter is not suspicious in nature and there were no reported injuries.
