RCMP investigate electricity theft, Oak Lake emergency, and more

During the week of Dec. 28 to Jan. 3 the Westman RCMP dealt with 43 police activities.

 

Dec. 28 – RCMP were dispatched to Elkhorn for a report of a vehicle theft. The vehicle was returned two days later.

Dec. 28 – RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a weapons complaint. An intoxicated female tried to stab an adult male with a knife. The female was arrested and released on a future Court date. There were no injuries.

Dec. 29 – RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of a confrontation inside a residence. It was determined no physical assault occurred. With consent, the two people were separated for the day.

Dec. 30 – RCMP were dispatched to the RM of Pipestone for a report of a stolen truck. The vehicle has since been recovered; the investigation is ongoing.

Dec. 30 – RCMP received a report from Manitoba Hydro who reported a theft of electricity in Melita. The meter had been by passed; the investigation is ongoing.

Jan. 2 – RCMP were dispatched to the RM of Wallace-Woodworth for a report of a truck that had it’s windows smashed. The investigation is ongoing.

Jan. 2 – RCMP were dispatched to Oak Lake for a report of an individual who attempted self-harm. The individual was transported to the hospital via ambulance for further assistance.

Jan. 3 – RCMP were dispatched to the Virden hospital for a report of an agitated patient threatening hospital staff. The individual was calmed down and restrained at the hospital prior to police departure.

Five wellbeing checks were undertaken during this reporting period.
