RCMP investigate rash of thefts

During the week of Nov. 30 to Dec. 6, the Westman RCMP dealt with 65 police activities. Highlights of dispatch: Nov. 30 – the RM of Two Boarders for a report that two off-road vehicles were stolen.

During the week of Nov. 30 to Dec. 6, the Westman RCMP dealt with 65 police activities. Highlights of dispatch:

Nov. 30 – the RM of Two Boarders for a report that two off-road vehicles were stolen. A 2016 Honda SXS-1 and a 2014 Ski-Doo Skan snowmobile. The matter is under investigation.

Nov. 30 – the RM of Pipestone for the theft of a white 2006 Chevrolet Silverado and a trailer. The items have since been recovered; the matter is under investigation.

Dec. 2 - Sioux Valley for a report of an individual who wanted to commit self-harm. The individual attended the Brandon Crisis centre on their own accord.

Dec. 2 – Pierson in the Municipality of Two Borders for a report of a Break and Enter at Cameron Agencies Insurance. The matter is under investigation.

Dec. 3 – Virden for a report of a female who had not been seen by her mother for three days. Several attempts were made to locate the individual. She received word that police were looking for her so she attended the detachment to show she was safe.

Dec. 3 – Sioux Valley for a report of an intoxicated person refusing to leave a residence. The individual was ultimately transported to hospital due to some health concerns.

Dec. 5 – Sioux Valley for a report of an individual who wanted to commit self-harm. The individual was taken by ambulance to hospital.

Dec. 6 – Sioux Valley for a report of an individual who wanted to commit self-harm. Upon police arrival, the individual ran from police, was arrested under the Mental Health ACT and brought to the hospital for assistance.

One COVID compliance check and 16 traffic enforcement actions were undertaken during this reporting period.
