Jan. 13 - RCMP received a report of a historical child abuse in Sioux Valley. The investigation is continuing into the matter.
Jan. 14 - RCMP attended Sioux Valley for a report of a disturbance. Upon attendance, it was learned that an individual had attacked a pair of people with a knife, resulting in minor injuries. This individual was arrested; however, the victim was breaching court imposed conditions at the time he was attacked. A 47-year-old female from Sioux Valley was arrested for assault with a weapon and released for a future court date. A 24-year-old male from Sioux Valley was arrested for failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance and held in custody.
Jan. 16 - RCMP attended to a downtown establishment in Virden for a report of a highly intoxicated individual who was not able to care for himself. He was located by police, and despite their best efforts, alternate arrangements were unable to be located. The male was arrested and lodged in cells until he was sober to ensure his safety.
Jan. 17 - RCMP were called to Sioux Valley for a report of a female trying to physically harm herself. It was learned that the call was false. A short time later, another call was received from the same residence regarding a very similar occurrence. Police attended once again and learned that again the call was false. As a result two females from Sioux Valley aged 26 and 49 were arrested for Public Mischief and released for a future court date.
Jan. 18 - RCMP were called to a residence in Virden for a report of Break and Enter. Upon attendance, the residence was checked and no signs of break and enter were observed.
Jan. 19 - RCMP received a report of a hit and run in Virden. A vehicle was struck in a parking lot, and when the driver pulled over to exchange information, the other vehicle departed the location. The investigation is continuing.
