RCMP look for a suspect in Virden theft

During the week of Sept. 30 to Oct. 7 the Westman RCMP dealt with 73 police activities.

Oct. 1 - RCMP are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect in a Theft that occurred at a business in Virden, resulting several computer hard drives being stolen. If you are able to identify the suspect in this matter, please contact the Virden RCMP at 204-748-2046.  

Oct. 1 - RCMP attended to a report of a break and enter in Sioux Valley. A BB gun was stolen from a residence and was being shot at the property representative. Police attended and identified the suspects in the matter. Warrants of arrest are in place. The BB gun was located by police already.

Oct. 2 - RCMP responded to Sioux Valley for a report that a male had been assaulted with a golf club.  The victim left before police arrived, likely due to the fact he has two outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Oct. 2 - RCMP were conducting traffic patrols and located a vehicle in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth operating in an erratic manner. The vehicle was stopped and driver was suspected of having consumed alcohol. He provided a sample of his breath, resulting in a reading of "WARN". He was issued a 72-hour licence suspension as well as a ticket for driving without a licence.

Oct. 3 - While conducting traffic enforcement in the RM of Pipestone, RCMP pulled over a vehicle whose driver was disqualified from operating a motor vehicle. He was subsequently ticketed resulting in a $672 fine and his vehicle was seized for 30 days.

Oct. 5 - RCMP took part in Manitoba Public Insurance's Distracted Driving Campaign conducting patrols for cell phone usage within Town. Several tickets were issued for using a cell phone or hand-held electronic device while operating a motor vehicle, resulting in a $672 fine and three-day licence suspension.

Oct. 6 - RCMP received a report of an impaired driver in Sioux Valley. Patrols were conducted, and the vehicle was located. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and provided samples over the legal limit. A 46-year-old female is facing charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit.
