During the week of Oct. 26 to Nov. 1 the Westman RCMP dealt with 51 police activities.
Oct. 28 - RCMP were dispatched to the Municipality of Two Borders for a report of a car on fire on Highway 83. The matter is still under investigation.
Oct. 29 - RCMP were dispatched to the Sioux Valley Petro for a report of a fuel theft. A suspect was identified via licence plate. The individual returned and paid for the fuel.
Oct. 30 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of a Break and Enter. A 20-year-old female was located by police, and started a physical altercation. She was safely taken into custody and released on a future Court date.
Oct. 30 - RCMP were dispatched to Tilston for a report of a suicide threat. The individual in distress was transported to the hospital for further assistance.
Nov. 1 - RCMP were dispatched to the Virden Hospital for a report of an intoxicated person being belligerent and inappropriate with staff. The individual was arrested and lodged for the evening as he was too intoxicated to care for himself.
Nov. 1 - RCMP responded to Sioux Valley for a report of a collision. Subsequent to investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Breath samples of 220 mg/100 ml were provided. The driver was released the following morning on a future Court date.
A total of two COVID compliance checks, and 12 traffic enforcement actions were undertaken during this reporting period.
