August 4
Pulled over a vehicle on PR #257, The driver, who was driving erratically, was found to have been drinking and failed the sobriety test. A 24-hour suspension was handed out.
Responded to a 911 call regarding a two-vehicle collision in Virden, there were no injuries; one vehicle was towed. One of the drivers was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign.
August 5
Receiving complaints of money being fraudulently transferred out of bank accounts. The investigation continues.
Received a complaint of an erratic driver on TransCanada Highway. Police patrolled but were unable to locate the suspect.
August 6
Received an alarm to a business in Oak Lake. Upon arrival they found the alarm was false.
August 7
Received an alarm to a business in Virden. Upon arrival officers found the building had been entered and bottles of liquor were missing. The investigation is ongoing.
Received a call of an explosion that occurred on Thompson Place in Virden. The explosion caught two houses ablaze and they were both lost. A man who was inside one home was injured and rushed to the hospital.
Pulled over a vehicle in downtown Virden area. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for impaired driving.
August 8
Received an alarm call to a business in Virden. Police attended and found that it had just been employees in the building who had triggered the alarm
August 10
Received a report of a hit and run in Virden, the vehicle had damage done to one side. The investigation is ongoing.
Received a 911 hang-up call. They attended the call and found it was just an issue with the phone line.
Attended an alarm call to a residence in Virden and found the owner had accidentally set it off.
August 11
Received a 911 call of a disturbance. It was confirmed that the disturbance was an intoxicated female; police attendance was not needed.
