Virden RCMP responded to 88 calls for service from Aug. 1 to Aug. 7.
• Police responded to an emergency call at Oak Lake Beach on Aug. 4. A woman came very close to drowning. She was sent to Brandon Hospital and is recovering.
• Police attended an assault in Virden on Aug. 6. The assault occurred during a bar fight which was resolved and no charges were laid.
• RCMP responded to numerous alcohol-related complaints over the Aug 4-7 long weekend at Oak Lake Beach.
• Three reports of impaired driving at Oak Lake Beach over the August long weekend remain unsolved.
• RCMP attended at barn fire at Pipestone on Aug. 7; no one was injured.
• Police responded to two mischief complaints in Virden where vehicle vandalism such as smashed mirrors had occurred. The case is ongoing.
• A drug investigation by Virden RCMP resulted in a small seizure of marijuana and alcohol on Aug. 6 at Oak Lake Beach.
• RCMP attended a report of sexual assault in Virden; the case is under investigation.
• Police responded to two complaints of theft of electricity; the case is ongoing.
• RCMP attended two traffic accidents in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth. On Aug. 5 a vehicle hit a bear, and on Aug. 6 a vehicle hit a cow. No injuries were reported.
• Police responded to an uttering threats complaint in Virden; the case is under investigation.
• RCMP attended a mischief complaint in Virden on Aug. 2. A vehicle had been damaged by paint-ball; the case is ongoing.
