During the week of April 27th to May 4th the Westman RCMP dealt with 84 police activities.
Apr 28 - RCMP were called to a residence in Sioux Valley for a report of an unwanted individual. Upon arriving, police were able to identify the individual, and police record checks revealed several warrants for his arrest and release order conditions that he was breaching. He was arrested and held in custody until he could appear before a JP.
Apr 28 - RCMP conducted a curfew check on an offender at an address in Virden. The individual was not home. As a result a warrant of arrest has been issued.
Apr 29 - RCMP were called to a residence in Sioux Valley for a report of an unwanted person. Police attended and located the male who was breaching conditions of a probation order. A 23 year old male from Sioux Valley is now facing charges of failing to comply with a probation order.
Apr 30 - RCMP were called to Sioux Valley for a report of an impaired driver. Police attended and were able to locate the individual who was driving. She was arrested and provided breath samples almost 3 times the legal limit. A 40 year old female from Sioux Valley is facing impaired driving charges.
May 2 - Westman RCMP, along with the RCMP Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team and Police Dog Services conducted a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant in Melita. As a result of the search and investigation into the matter, a 29 year old male from Melita is facing charges of possession of unstamped tobacco, possession of methamphetamine and possession of psilocybin (mushrooms).
RCMP responded to 6 false alarms and 5 grass fires during this reporting period.
